Profitshire Constabulary – will PCCs ensure there is full open public debate?

23 May

We have recently seen the Home Secretary defending one of the candidates for CHMIC & the questions raised over independence & impartiality May defends Winsor

We have seen the IPCC want more powers to deal with privatisation

Clearly accountability is key

As the temporary Chief Constable of Cumbria has made clear we need an informed debate

We have seen public denials about privatisation of policing & where one draws the line. Clearly the document signed up to sets wide parameters & includes many forces

The 10th May march by 35000off duty cops in London brought the issue of privatised policing to the fore.

Clearly the public are concerned

Is it political expediency to put plans on hold?

The issue is to complex & significant to be quietly resurrected – we therefore ask whether the stance of all candidates in PCC elections (regardless of their political affiliations) is something they should include in their manifestos?
